We are a family owned and operated auction service located near Bird In Hand, PA in the heart of Amish Country. We strive to provide the best service and maximum value for all of our customers.
Who We Are
Derrick Hall - Auctioneer
Derrick worked in Information Technology for over 35 years, 15 of those years as an independent consultant. He has operated a sport collectibles business since 1984; at trade shows during the 80's and 90's, jumping to eBay in 1997 and still going today. He operated a brick and mortar sports collectibles store from 2000 to 2007. He has been an auction goer since his college years in western Pennsylvania, furnishing his apartments almost completely at auctions. He still owns the two antique end tables that were his first auction purchase.

His main expertise is sports collectibles and memorabilia, and vinyl records. He is using his background in information technology to use past auction data to provide accurate valuations.
What's with the name?
Darn Dog originated from our current dog, Scout. While Derrick was in auctioneer school and practicing his call, recording it for a class assignment, Scout interrupted the the recording by barking at the window. His bark was easily recorded and Derrick said 'darn dog' in the middle of the call sequence. It kind of flowed with the call, so he continued to use it as filler words for his call in the remaining assignments. It is also part of the name used for our ebay store, Darn Dog Treasures.
